Southampton Solent University
Solent University is situated in the heart of the Southampton's city centre, close to the developing cultural quarter. As a University it has a strong focus on engaging with the wider community and arts organisations, through participatory projects which link up with city centre festivals and cultural strategies. Solent University has teamed up with Ejector Seat Arts: (www.ejectorseat.co.uk) who are running their annual free Arts Festival on 5 June 2010, which is held in Palmerston Park, on the doorstep of Solent University's main building. Many of the projects will be delivered and showcased at Ejector Seat.
Bike Bomb

Duncan Newland's installation involves a sound system powered by track bikes, pedal-powered paint mechanism and 30 foot free-standing graffiti wall with live painting. Part of the Ejector Seat Festival.
Freize Frame

Working with young people to explore the Olympic values of respect,excellence and friendship and the Paralympic values of courage, determination, inspiration and equality. Park Like Scripts

Sporting Theatre

A diverse dance theatre performance in collaboration with
local visual artist, Stu Rodda. Values from the Cultural Olympiad will be reflected in pieces devised by students from Southampton Solent University, local schools and emerging dance-artist, Abi Nolan.
Extreme Printing

The design and production of a large-scale relief printing block inspired by the five Olympic continents and the five colours which make up the Olympic brand. To be printed at Ejector Seat Festival with a steam roller.

Arches resident Ian Kirkpatrick's artwork invites new examination of the scope of the games and their relationship to humanities, myths, fantasies, and aspirations.
Track and Field
Where: Hidden Artery Gallery, Soul Cellar and City tour
When: 24 July - 25 July (open weekend)
Art and sport are brought together using an element of the Olympics that isn't traditionally found in art – 'competitiveness'. This live art installation, based on track and field sport, includes a guided art jog around the city.
