Town of Runners outreach programme

Town of Runners is a feature documentary about the lives and ambitions of young runners from Bekoji, a small Ethiopian town which has produced some of the world’s greatest athletes. The film has been in production since July 2008 and will follow their stories until the end of 2011.

Using the Town of Runners film as a springboard this arts-led outreach programme will work with local sports and cultural groups to develop opportunities for young people to both engage directly with their counterparts in Ethiopia and to produce their own creative digital media responses to the film in relation to their own environment.
